One of the Via Lattea's most unique features is that you can ski from Sauze d'Oulx all the way into France and back on a single lift pass — no additional tickets, no border formalities on the mountain. Here's how to do it.
Winter activity
Skiing to Montgenèvre is a winter activity — the ski lifts that connect the Italian and French sides of the Via Lattea operate from approximately December to April.
In summer, the Col du Montgenèvre is accessible by road (the D994/SS24 mountain road) and is a classic destination for cyclists, motorcyclists and road-trippers. The drive or cycle over the col from Clavière to Montgenèvre is spectacular in summer.
